My newest family member!

Even though this blog is mostly about knitting, I sometimes post about important events in my life. So today is the day I would like to write about my little baby girl Bella. She was long waited, especially by my son.
Bella

I have told my hubby for months now that we are missing a dog, girl dog. So we have been looking around little bit. Not too much because actually life gets busy before Christmas but I guess it was not meant to be either since Bella found us herself. I believe it was destiny for Her to come to us.
My son is thrilled and holding her and does not let her out of sight, especially at night, when it is must for her to sleep next to him

Haapsalu Shawls

Since I have knitted several Haapsalu shawls meanwhile I will make one post for all of them. Firstly, the green one with the "Paw" pattern was my first one. Then I was little bit affraid wether I can make the edge part in two parts and I decided to make it in four pieces. And I used 3.5 size needles instead of 3.0All the other ones have been made of tratitional two part edge lace and knitted in 3.0 size needles. All these shawls yarn is 28/2.

So this light (apple) green is my first one. Made out of fine lambwool.

"Cube" pattern. White fine 100%. Absolutely fabulouse for wedding.

Since I love colors, I use them in my shawls. This one is "Willow leaf" pattern made out of dark green 100% fine wool.

"Ears of wheat with flowers" pattern made out white 100% merino wool.

Triangular Shawl made out of 100% fine white wool.

All my lovely Shawls with a book where you can find all the patterns "Haapsalu Sall". This book has been translated into english too. If you wish to have one, look for it in Amazon or Ebay!

1081 loops!

So about two weeks ago I started a new shawl and this week ended up doing the edge lace. I decided to try a new way of doing it. Not in two parts but in one all the way. That means, I had to make 1081 loops right away. This was a challenge mostly because make the right number of loops and not to get lost starting with the pattern. For that, after every 100 loops I left a margin with other color of yarn. That was really helpful and made the work easier than I expected!:)

Some pics of the work.

As you see from the picture, there is another good tip I use. To get the  beginning loops bigger and even in size, I use second needle. This shawl is going to be a real beauty and I can't wait to get it ready. Hopefully today, I can but it on a frame cos Sandy the storm is coming and no outdoor activities are possible:).

Shawl for the wedding

My dear sister got married in August and she asked a shawl for the occasion. As the nights can be cold in august allready in Estonia, I decided to make it out of Angora style yarn. Really warm. This yarn consits mostly of acryllic, but it staied in shape pretty nicely.

The whole summer has gone while not having posted anything here! Thats a shame, but I have not abandoned my passion for knitting shawls. Actually, I have been pretty busy. Many adorable shawls are waiting to show you. So, now I try to start making posts.

So fristly, Sofia that was finished in the spring (May) allready. The happy owner is in Poland. A long time friend  received it.

I knitted it with 3.00 mm needles out of Salomone merino 28/2 yarn. So soft and warm!

My first triangular scarf

Hi. I have knited for a while now and desided it is time for others to see my created beauty as well. I'm especially into lace because I find it interesitng to knit pattern with a fine thin yarn. The outcome is just gorgeous.

So, here is a picture of a triangular shawl (scarf), which is made of 100% wool yarn. The yarn is not very thin in this one but I like that way. It is perfect for colder days. The color is Blum.
